A finished project and a 1/2 finished one

I finished a quilt for my beautiful sister-in-law and new Brother-in-law. I now am waiting for my fingers to grow back. I think it was beautiful. I can't really tell anymore though because by the 120Th hour of quilting (no lie) I was cursing that quilt and thinking evil things about it and wondering who would EVER want it. It all started when I had to quilt the edges which were in a curlycue shape. I hated those edges. They came straight from the devils' handbook of torturous quilting. Yes, we now refer to that particular pattern as Hell's curlycue's. I only tell you this to reinforce the fact that it was hard. Way hard. Like herculean hard. And I wanted to thank those who helped. Especially with Hells curly ques. Now, I've ranted but really, for Heather and Adam, it was all worth it. Every single stitch. And I'm sorry I swore at your quilt.

Here is the quilt as I started quilting it

And Here, though they are faint and subtle(as much devilry is), between the bar and the blocks, you can see Hells Curlycues.

Now, another of my shortcomings revealed. I am horrible at remembering to water my plants. The only reason my garden looks good anywhere is because the sprinkling system hits it. So there are a few spots in the gardens that are completely bare. When I'm being honest with myself, I know that they are not likely to get any better either unless Rhyan messes up the sprinkling system and those spots accidentally get watered. In which case, something else will die. But I'm nothing if not resourceful so when I found some books at the library about painting flowers onto rocks, I knew I'd hit it big! I've done 3 so far and I like the way it's coming together. I have a few more hostas to do and some other flowers and those bare spots will be history! Think of it, a carefree plant that never needs deadheading, never needs water and no impudent little pups can pick the flowers. Oh, life is good.

I love the quilt! Amazing job.

As far as your garden goes...just stick some fake flowers into the grown. They will look real and no one will be the wiser. My neighbor does that every year in her garden and honestly if I she hadn't told me or I didn't look really closely, I wouldn't be able to tell.
