We're back!

We got back from our McCall/Cascade trip today. We had a marvolous time. Except for the ants. There are these mega ants that live in Idaho. They are big and fat and fast. And they were all over our cabin. I mean, all over the place. One even jumped onto my head the first night and woke me up. I think it was one of thier warriors because I'm pretty sure it did a kickboxing bob and weave move when I went to brush it off my cheek. And probably it said, "AYYYAAAA!" when it jumped on me which is what woke me up, I think. Anyway, I went around with the vaccuum attatchment and sucked up much of his family. But it was no good. They sent in plenty of reinforcements and since I had started a war, I called Kelly, the good woman who rented to us and told her all about it. (I may have left off the ayyyaaa! part, I don't remember) So she moved us to a newer, less antish place two blocks away. It was a REALLY nice, 4 bedroom, brand-new cabin with a giant loft and 3 bathrooms. One of the bathrooms had a jetted tub. SWEET. So we stayed our last two nights there.
We went hiking, canoeing in the Payette river, where I almost died. Rhyan disagrees with me about that point but I noticed that he wasn't the one battling a BIG tree limb and yelling, "I'm going to die. I'm going to die." Luckily, we did get around that particular log jam. We also went to a really fun little place called, Gold Fork Hot Springs where we swam and bought the obligatory souvenir T-shirt and hat. We ate at Martha's Dog House which was the best little hotdog/hamburger stand in Cascade, by the way. Of course, it may be the only little stand but it really was good enough to be the best one.
We came back to happy, sunburned boys and happy, chocolate covered girls who were all thrilled with the glitter-rocks I brought them as souvenirs. I love kids.

How beautiful! I'm totally envious, well except for the whole ant thing. I could do without those. I'm glad you guys had a great time.

What a fun trip! Glad you didn't die in the canoe and that you didn't get eaten by the killer ants. Looks like it was a beautiful area and a really nice cabin! Happy anniversary!
