Developmental Delays

I've been really excited about Brooklyn's new skill. (which she hasn't deigned to repeat, by the way) But her slow progress leads me to wonder. Would she do this on her own anyway even if I wasn't doing baby yoga, gymnastics, physical and occupational therapy and everything else I can think of? I wonder. And I'll never know because I'm not going to stop and see if her development suffers and then say, oh, I guess it IS helping! That would be dumb.

Hmmm...I not much of a go-do type person, but I agree with you. All that stuff certainly can't hurt her! Does she have a diagnosis of some sort?

I agree 150 percent that it is helping....even if it is small or huge! I believe that the power that you can give her is amazing. Jaxon was at least a year behind until his 7 year old check up....Remember he did not talk until he was three and walking was hard to come by. Therapy, Speech Thearpy, EIP, and millions of hours of prayer....it helps even in the small ways. Brooklyn is so blessed to have you on her side! No matter what the outcome,.....she is so lucky to have you! Love ya

I agree with everyone else, it can't hurt to keep doing all the stuff. I'm sure it also gives the two of you some great bonding time.

Yes, she does have a diagnosis of developmentally delayed but nothing more direct than that. Our neurologist suggested that it could have been a stroke at birth, or something on the autism spectrum or something that we will never find out about. It's hard to tell.
