Getting Ready for Texas

OK. So I'm getting ready for my Texas trip and I'm so excited! I've been really nervous because I've never been away from my own little family before. Like, never since I've been married. I've always had at least one of them with me. But I've been talking to several friends who have done this recently and they all say I'll do just fine. My one regret is that I'll be leaving right before Casey's preschool graduation. I'm very sad to miss that. I just have to remind myself. It's preschool, for peat sake! I mean, really. Rhyan can snap a few pictures for me. My friend Patricia suggested that I write letters to each kid for each day that I'm gone. I like that idea. I would have loved it as a kid, myself. So, there it is.

I am excited for you. I think that being away from my family was the hardest part for me as well. But I wrote letters to my kids too. That helped. And I brought them each back a little suprise. That helped too. I also told them that the night I got home we would go to chuck e cheese. That helped Ashlynn because then she had something else to try to focus on. You will have alot of fun. Just remember to take some pictures.

When my parents would go out of town my Mom would leave a pile of presents on the table labeled with what day we could open them-- things like a new book, crayons and a coloring book, little dollar store toys, a new movie, etc. That was a fun tradition I thought, and it gave us something to look forward to every day. You will have a fantastic time in Texas!
