Some Family Came to Play

So, I'm a little late blogging this, but my Mom and Dad came to play with us the last week in May. We did so many fun things! One of my favorites was canoeing down the Flint River. Fist Bump!

We stopped to play in the river, floating downstream and then hiking back up-river to do it again!

We found a shady spot to stop for lunch. Casey found and lost a minow catcher. He was so sad. I was less sad.

Brooklyn did remarkably well on this long trip.

We had 3 canoes and 1 kid Kayak. What memories!

My Mom and I were in a canoe together. We hit every log on the river, I swear! I haven't laughed that hard in death-defying situations in a long time. (I use the term death-defying very loosly here as the river was rarely over 5 feet deep and the "rapids" were usually under 3 feet deep and not really rapid so to speak) Anyway, when my mom complained to the owner that he gave us a canoe that ran into things, he apologized and promised to give us a free upgrade to the non-run-into-things canoe on our next trip. Good guy.

What a fun little adventure! When we were in Jackson Hole a few weeks ago we debated on going down a river....yours sounds better than those. Of course I said "NO WAY" when I heard how rough it can be. I'm a chicken.
