Easter, Potatoes and the Apes

Well, quite a few things to talk about today! First, Easter. We had such a fun Easter. On Saturday we decorated eggs then the Easter bunny came and hid them along with the obligatory candy-filled eggs. All day the kids were bouncing off the walls and Rhyan kept muttering under his breath about that darn Easter bunny and something about way too much candy. I keep telling him that he survived his childhood with lots of Easter candy and so will they! Then on Sunday, we got all dolled up and went to church. The Spirit was very strong there and we felt grateful for the gospel in our lives. The girls got to wear their new dresses and Josh and Casey had new shirts and ties. They all looked fabulous. I love Easter.

Then, if you've ever had trouble getting your kids to eat mashed potatoes, my dad came up with a fantastic solution that works with my kids. We no longer have mashed potatoes at our house. We eat potato snowmen; with

cheese sliver arms. Oh yea. Try it yourself. It's acctually quite theraputic to build those little things! Here is what they look like:

And Finally, we went to the zoo with Elisa the other day and had fun. You can see how the kids measured up to apes. (in size anyway!)

I love the mashed potato snowmen. I will have to try that because my kid could care less about eating them. Very cute! Loved the Easter outfits.

Looks like you guys had a very fun Easter! I haven't posted any pics of ours yet, but we had a good time with all of Michael's family and some of mine. The kids loved Easter egg hunting and of course there was way too much candy around! Aunt Julie stopped by for awhile too, which was very fun. You are such a great mom Andrea... snowman mashed potatoes is an awesome idea!

Tee hee. I've tried the snowman potatoes, and sadly, my children still take one bite and spit them out. It was fun going to the zoo with you. See you on Thursday. Love ya.

luckily my kids like potatoes. I guess that is what you get for living in Idaho, we eat LOTS of potatoes but I still love the idea. You are so clever!
